"...The hotel was excellent and the staff were so genuinely warm n friendly I was really sad to say goodbye! Location is good – 2min walk down the hill to the beach, shops and restaurants. They offer a free shuttle bus to their sister resort in Patong. Patong was better for shopping, markets were great however the amount of hassling from tailors/shop keepers/massage girls etc was annoying after a few hours. The restaurants are great – loved the Karon Beach Resort restaurant overlooking the beach and sunset, On the Rock and Mom Tris at Kata Noi (phone to make a booking to reserve the seats on the water for the last two restaurants).
